Why Buy a Used Car?

Friday, November 27th, 2009

Everybody knows that owning a car nowadays is a necessity, and purchasing second hand ones is something being done by more and more people. But who actually buys used cars? The answer to that particular question is just about eveybody.

The biggest buyers of used cars today are the car dealers who often take these in as part exchange when the customer buys a new model. Most car lots around today will therefore have both new cars and used ones. Most car dealers will only re-sell cars of a certain age or younger and anything older will be sent for auction.

There are many, many reasons that Joe Soap would purchase a used car as opposed to a brand new model. One big reason is the fact that used cars do not depreciate in value at the same rate as a new one would. And this is one of the reasons that a person can buy a ‘nearly new’ car at such a great price. Insurance for the car is also lower for a used one rather than a new one.

Because there are so many used cars on the market, it is always much easier to locate the type, model and colour of car you need. There will also be used cars with different mounts of mileage on them which also means their prices will vary as well. When making a used car purchase from a dealer, you are almost certain that the car will be both serviced and in great condition. At the end of the day, the car dealer doesn’t want his reputation tarnished by selling cars that are no good.

Today, checking up on the history of the car is easier than ever. When its time to replace your car, you should seriously consider buying a used one in its place.

Why Your Car Can Say a lot About You

Friday, August 21st, 2009

There are so many different things that a car can say about someone’s personality, so let’s take a quick look at a few things, we will look at the car and then what it can do for your personality.

Boy Racer Car

You know that the people that drive boy racer cars are load and energetic, they do up the car to match their own personality. You will truly know that if you come across a boy racer then it will be non stop.

Sports Car

You could label a sports car the same way as a boy racer, the only real difference in my opinion is the person with a sports car is probably someone that is older with quite a bit of money to their name.

Lagoon and 7 Seater

The lagoon and seven seater vehicles are for people that are settled in life and have a family and wife, these people are relaxed and laid back and probably someone that budgets their everyday living.

Elegant Cars

Elegant cars like the Mercedes are for people who are mid aged or slightly older, it shows you that they are trying to get back their youth and they are doing this by purchasing flashy and expensive vehicles.

Old Cars

You then have the people that purchase old cars and bangers, these people are usually the ones that do not that have that much money to hand and literally do not care what people think about them or the stuff they have got.

Classic Cars

These are more targeted towards the older generation; they usually purchase classic cars to relive their younger life, simply because it’s a time they were very happy in. By purchasing the classic car they believe that they can relive these good time once again.

Boy Scouts Vs Ford

Sunday, July 26th, 2009

June 15th this year would be the time when the Boy Scouts of America’s Cascade Pacific Council would be respecting the Ford Motor Company. The company would be given by the mentioned council as the Motorsports Company of the Year. Such an event would occur in the council’s 17th yearly Motorsports Breakfast which would be held in Portland, Oregon. Essentially, this breakfast is essentially done as an element of the activities and events of the Grand Prix of Portland which is an annual stop of the Bridgestone Presents The Champion Automobile World Series Powered by Ford.

It was Ron Bennett who presented and gave the Motorsports Company of the Year award to the Ford Motor Company. Ron Bennett is an example of the members of the Motorsports Breakfast Steering Board . While honoring the company, he declares, “There are numerous likenesses between the Ford Motor Company and the Boy Scouts. The ideal example is the Pinewood Derby. We both exercise imaginations and learn about the trials and tribulations of building the ideal race automobile. From planning the vehicle, placing the weights and even developing paint schemes, the Scouts prepare for their races in the same way our engineers test and develop our race cars.”

This award is a distinction that is recognized well enough by the company. In reality, Jamie Allison, the boss for the Ford Racing Performance Group, had things to say about this. He states, “It is an accolade to be recognized by the Cascade Pacific Council, Boy Scouts of America. I’m privileged to accept this award on behalf of Dan Davis, Director of Ford Racing. It for us to be recognized by an organization that has such an effect on the young people of the Portland area and across the country.” With the various sorts of awards and accolades that the company has received thru the years, this award would be another one that would be part of the firm’s treasure.
